Book jacket illustrations

Currently working on some book jacket illustrations for the "very short introduction" series by the oxford press (university brief). Finished the illustrations, just need to work on the rest of the cover design! It's in very rough development stages at the moment. Still unsure about the colours. I'm terrible with colour...

The relevance of the train is twofold. Firstly, it's representational of being given a tour around a subject. Secondly, the "brief" introduction reflects the brief snippets of the world you see whizz past as you look at the windows of a train. How about that, eh?

D&AD Student Illustrator Awards!

This was my entry for the Little White Lies magazine cover illustration contest thingy for D&AD.
It looks alot better in real life. I wanted to go for something a little different from the standard face on portraits Little White Lies seems to use.

the original sketchydoodle of Natalie Portman - looks quite a lot like her considering it was done in under a minute!...not to blow my own trumpet or anything...
